The 2nd Annual Clay’s Golf and Guitars event was a huge success! All the funds raise went to help start the ArkLaTex 100 Club.
The ArkLaTex100 club has been able to fulfill the following requests for these unbudgeted items that are necessary to help keep our first responders protected.
Bowie County Sheriff’s office—Canine and training with handler- Cost $10,000.00 for dog and $3,000.00 for training
Texarkana Arkansas Police Department- 50 Rifle plate carriers $13,369.50. These will protect officers from rapid, high power firing arms.
Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department 6 V-Watch. When firefighters are on scene of fire and there are downed lines, they have to wait until the electrical co can get there and test the line for electricity. When firefighters respond to an automobile wreck and there are downed lines, they again cannot begin rescue until the electric co. deems it safe. These will enable the firefighters to test the line and if it is not live wire, they can begin rescue. Cost $ 2,122.57
Texarkana Texas Police Department- 25 body armor vests and 25 tactical helmets. These will protect officers from high, rapid fire rifles. Cost $15,000.00
Texarkana Texas Fire Department- 78 Cobra hoods. Currently the firefighters only have one helmet per person. Studies show an increase risk of cancer with carcinogens emitted during a fire. This will enable the fire fighters to rotate helmets while one is being sent out to be properly cleaned. Cost $2,457.00
