More than 370 tickets were sold for the concert, and 169 individuals played in the golf tournament. Additionally, more than a hundred generous sponsors and over 50 individuals provided volunteer support for the golf tournament and evening concert.
The Eichlers presented $110,000 to A&M-Texarkana, which will be used for four four-year student scholarships, an endowed scholarship and to enhance the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program at the university.
The A&M-Texarkana Scholarship Committee selected four students as recipients of the first Clay Eichler Memorial Scholarships: Hunter Exum of Farmersville High School, Lauren Gibbert of Texas High School, Juan Ortiz of East Central High School and Caitlin Walsh of Texas High School.
The Eichlers plan to dedicate the proceeds of Clay’s Golf and Guitars to different charitable organizations each year.
The 2016 Clay’s Golf and Guitars is set for May 21, 2016.
